Fruit Trifle step by step
- Pour 2 1/2 cups milk to a heavy bottom pan. Add 4-5 tablespoons sugar in it. Begin to heat it on a medium flame..
- Stir and dissolve the sugar..
- Meanwhile add 3 tablespoons custard powder to a small mixing bowl. Pour 1 1/4 cup milk (at room temperature) and mix well. The mixture has to be smooth without lumps..
- When the milk turns hot and not boiling turn the flame low and add 2 tbsp of the mixture in it..
- Immediately mix well to avoid the lumps..
- Now again pour the mixture in it and continue doing the same. This way pour it in 3 batches until all of it is used..
- Regulate the flame to medium stir well as it continues to boil. With in few minutes, the mixture turns thick. Turn off the stove..
- Cover it immediately and let it cool at room temperature.
- Now cut all the fruits of your choice in pieces and take the Britannia Cake and cut it into slices.
- Now take a large shallow bowl and pour some custard in it, then add a layer of cake slices and then a layer of fruits. Now again pour some custard in it and do the same layering..
- Do this until the bowl is filled now add some pomegranate seeds on top of it for garnishing..
- Keep this in fridge until set and serve..
