Ingredients of Cottage Pie

  1. Prepare 250 g of minced beef.
  2. It's 1 of small onion.
  3. You need 1 of stock cube.
  4. It's 200 mls of water.
  5. It's of Seasoning - salt, pepper, worcestershire sauce.
  6. You need 2 of tsps cornflour.
  7. Prepare 500 g of potatoes.
  8. It's of Milk and butter for mashing.
  9. You need of Other vegetables - peas, carrots, sweetcorn etc.

Cottage Pie step by step

  1. Wash and peel potatoes. Dice into even sized pieces and cook in boiling water until soft; approx 25 minutes.
  2. Meanwhile, dry fry the minced beef and finely chopped onion. Cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the other vegetables.
  4. Add the stock cube, wated and seasoning and simmer for 20 minutes.
  5. Blend the cornflour with a tbsp of water. Mix until smooth. Add to the minced beef mixture.
  6. Place meat in and oven proof dish.
  7. Drain and mash potatoes with milk and butter.
  8. Place/pipe potato on top of beef mixture.
  9. To re heat, place in and oven gas 6/200°C for 30 minutes.
